Laura Gelfman MD

Laura Gelfman, MD, received her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at New York- Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Subsequently, she completed her clinical and research fellowship in Palliative Medicine at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and in July, she joined the Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine as an Instructor. Dr. Gelfman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.  Dr. Gelfman’s research focus is to examine the role of palliative medicine for patients with heart failure. More specifically, she is investigating which interventions might change the quality of care for these patients and ultimately, change health policy.
