Thomas W. LeBlanc MD, MA

Thomas W. LeBlanc, MD, MA, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy, at the Duke University School of Medicine.  He received his medical degree from Duke University, along with a master of arts degree in philosophy and biomedical ethics.  He then completed residency training in internal medicine at Duke, followed by fellowships in medical oncology and hospice and palliative medicine, and served as Chief Medical Resident at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  Dr. LeBlanc’s research seeks to explore and understand the experience of patients with cancers of the blood, to inform interventions aimed at improving quality of life and access to specialist palliative care services across the spectrum of hematologic malignancies.  He is a 2013 recipient of a Junior Career Development Award grant from the NPCRC.
