NPCRC Announces New Opportunities for Pediatric and Geriatric Palliative Care Research Applications

10.03.2013

Lord Pediatric Palliative Care Career Development Award

Thanks to the very generous support of the Lord Foundation, the National Palliative Care Research Center (NPCRC) announces the creation of the Lord Pediatric Palliative Care Career Development Award.  This award will support an additional career development award to those the NPCRC annually funds focused specifically on pediatric palliative care.  We strongly encourage applications from junior investigators conducting research in pediatric palliative care.

Pilot/Exploratory Grants in Geriatric Palliative Care

Thanks to a recent R24 award from the National Insitute of Aging, the NPCRC announces a new opportunity for experienced investigators conducting research in palliative care focused on older adults.  This program will support an additional 2 pilot/exploratory awards in to those the NPCRC annually funds focused specifically on geriatric palliative care.  We strongly encourage applications from experienced investigators conducting research in geriatric palliative care.

Applicants for these new programs should follow regular NPCRC application procedures but indicate on their Letters of Intent and in a cover letter on an accepted application that they would like to be considered for funding under these two programs in addition to the regular grant competition.

Letters of Intent are due November 1, 2013. Full proposals are accepted by invitation only and are due January 15, 2014. All awards will start July 1, 2014.
