The National Palliative Care Research Center

Curing suffering through palliative care research.

Eighteenth Annual Kathleen M. Foley Palliative Care Retreat and Research Symposium

11.21.2024

Dear NPCRC Community,

As many know, the National Palliative Care Research Center (NPCRC) will conclude its vital work in 2025. After two decades of dedicated support for palliative care research and initiatives, this is an appropriate moment for transition. We are optimistic about the future as the NIH prepares to fund a new consortium with leadership focused on advancing palliative care research, and we are confident the field is ready for this next chapter.

While we are proud of much accomplished, the annual Kathleen Foley Palliative Care Research Retreat has been a significant highlight of our journey. This event has served as a cornerstone for collaboration, bringing together esteemed researchers and representatives from NPCRC, the American Cancer Society (ACS), the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), and the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA) to foster dialogue, share insights, and cultivate lasting professional relationships.

To honor our shared achievements and look to the future, we invite you to join us as our guest for a final celebration. Please mark your calendar for October 6-8, 2025, when we will gather at the Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta, Canada, for a memorable event recognizing our collective accomplishments and the path ahead.

We will share additional details and a formal invitation early next year. If you already know you will not be attending, please indicate it below and you will be removed from event-related communications.
