The Mapi Research Institute Announces an award for a junior person who works on improving the quality life of the terminally ill.

The Catherine Pouget award is intended to encourage young investigators to study the impact of quality of care on, or improve the quality of life of the terminally ill. Applicants may include students,degree candidates, fellows, or faculty members early in their research.The selection committee will consider a wide range of research projects whose results are likely to improve the quality of life and/or the health care of the terminally ill. Appropriate research projects would include studies of the impact of interventions on the quality of life of the terminally ill and studies of measures and determinants of quality of life and patients and/or families perspectives about the quality of care and/or life experiences. The maximum amount that will be funded will be $10,000 for work to be completed over a one- or two-year period.
