CAPC Director, Diane E. Meier, MD, Named MacArthur Foundation Fellow

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is pleased to announce that Diane E. Meier, MD, has been named a 2008 MacArthur Foundation Fellow.
The 2008 recipients of the Foundation's "genius awards" join 756 who have been named fellows since 1981. Winners are singled out for their creativity, originality and potential for making important future contributions. Each gets $100,000 a year for five years, with no strings attached.
This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Meier's groundbreaking work in shaping the field of palliative care and making its benefits available to millions of Americans suffering from serious illness.
